Writing Info/Comms Carrd

Nickname: Elf
Age: 24
Pronouns: he/him
Years of RP experience: 10 if you count tabletop, but about a year if you count written. I'm more of a fic writer than anything!

I prefer literate RP, but due to the nature of Twitter this is admittedly more like semi-literate.

Rules

I doubt I have much to say that isn't common courtesy. While I don't mind nsfw in other circumstances, I'm not here to RP nsfw on the dash. I'll likely not follow lewd or 18+ focused accounts.

Waver is a multi Servant Master at the moment. If I ship it'll be with chemistry. I imagine it would be single-ship, but we'll see!

I'm open to DM RP and actually prefer para style, but that would only be with muns I've made friends with and am close enough to to have reason to para rp.

-Doubles are welcomed and encouraged, I find it fun!
-My DMs are open and I'm friendly! But please don't try to force things if the chemistry isn't working out.
-It's alright to ping me if I seem to have forgotten a dash thread!
-Multiverse RP! I'll RP with characters outside of Fate
-No godmodding
-No queerphobia or otherwise offensive content, goes without saying
-Obvious but any loli/shota content will be blocked

Extended Bio:

Waver is a third generation mage. His parents passed away when he was around 15, considering he was at the Clock Tower for at least 4 years before Fate/Zero. He's the first to really study magic in his family.

As a student, Waver was something of an outcast. Not from an influential family or one to subscribe to the idea that blood determined inherent ability, his research was frowned upon and he felt slighted by mage society as a whole, feeling proud of himself for being able to enter on merit and selling off his family's possessions alone. Waver acts bratty, narcissistic, and full of himself, never doubting he's a genius and determined to prove himself. For years, all Waver did was research and read, sharpening his mind while ignoring his body.

Waver entered the Grail War after a conflict with his prior teacher and mentor, Kayneth El-Melloi. He took Kayneth's relic from Iskandar, or Alexander the Great, as payback for being humiliated regarding a research paper that took him 4 years to create. While most at the Clock Tower assumed he had stolen it out of rage and intended to hide it away, no one expected him to join the Grail war himself.

The relationship Waver had with Iskandar was jarring and clashing at first, but as time passed the relationship between Master Waver and Servant Iskandar was inverted, ending with them as friends and Waver swearing loyalty to Iskandar as his retainer before losing Iskandar in a fight with the Archer Servant, Gilgamesh. Waver still feels only absolutely loyalty to Iskandar, someone who became his friend and king instead of Servant. The effect Iskandar had on him was profound, particularly in regards to Waver's perception of life from his sheltered life in the Clock Tower. He values life more, including his own, and while still a genius mage, has inclinations to explore other interests such as video games and traveling.

Fate/Zero is Waver's coming of age, but he still acts much the same. Even his older self is easily agitated and scowls often. Waver is a little more level headed, and has hope while he tries a bit of life outside the Clock Tower. Iskandar inspired him to live and to find a dream, and Waver is trying to find his.

In the future, Waver obviously hasn't handled aspects of the trauma of the Grail War well. While he does have nightmares, grieves, and is working through his own feelings, my headcanon is that things like not being able to look at Gray/Saber's face due to bad memories happen later when he's thrown back into Clock Tower politics, bearing his old teacher's name. The more harmful coping mechanisms such as smoking and drinking come into play there too, although Waver has never been perfect at brushing his hair or getting enough sleep.

In Waver's future he becomes Lord El-Melloi II. For now, he's post Grail War, pre teaching post although he's aware of his future due to interactions with future selves. Waver's natural enemy is himself; he views the older Wavers with both admiration for their successes but also as cautionary tales for a fate he would like to avoid but will likely travel towards anyway. Perhaps he could do it without the binge drinking?

Canon Relationships

Every mun I write with will build a relationship with Waver, but as it stands, here's the ones that are canon to him. Keeping track of every individual RPer I write with is too much, but these are the generalized relationships he has for those curious.

Of course, anything that happens on the timeline overrides these.

Family

Birth Parents: Dead, passed away when he was either 15 or before.

Blood Siblings/Other Family: None

Glen and Martha Mackenzie: The closest thing Waver has to genuine family, and is found family at its most bizarre. Glen and Martha are older Canadian immigrants living in Fuyuki. While they were initially only a convenient couple to stay with in Fuyuki after he hypnotized them, the hypnosis failed (at least on Glen) and he eventually became something like a real grandson to them, more than their own grandchildren who never visited. Waver went from being a parasite to a genuine blessing in their empty nest home. Martha seems to have never figured out he isn’t her blood related grandson, but Glen is glad and forgives Waver for his inital entry into their lives since she’s happy to have him around.

The few months after the Fourth Grail War where Waver found part time work and lived with them in peace is one of the most genuinely happy times in his life. While the grief was strong after the shock of losing Iskander and generally being a part of the Grail War, the time to live life outside of textbooks and libraries and cold mage politics helped Waver grow.

Reines El-Melloi Archisorte: Bane of his existence. Darling little sister. A bad person and she knows it. Ah, kidding. Waver is her adopted older brother. While this younger Waver isn't her brother yet, any Reines is free to treat him like he is upon contact. Time is wobbly in Twitter RP, why wait to torment him?

Ratthew: Waver's familiar. A rat.

Other

Melvin Weins: Waver's closest friend. He financed Waver's trip to Japan and continues to support him into being a professor. They met during their school days when Waver punched him for being rich and annoying. Waver seems startled that Melvin does see him as a friend and a best friend at that, but between dodging puked blood and falling into more debt Waver can't really complain.

Iskandar/Alexander: Arguably the most important person to Waver, his liege and friend. He misses Iskandar dearly, and the bond between them is strong on Waver's end. It may come off as a bit of a crush, but I play Waver's interest in Iskandar as ambiguous depending on chemistry. He certainly loves him and wants his approval, shaping his own life the best he can in the shadow of Iskandar's larger than life legacy, but an intense bond doesn't have to be romantic. Waver is inspired by Iskandar and views his place as serving Iskandar at his side. He also views Alexander in much the same light, but with more of a protective approach, even like a teacher. Young Waver may not be the professor he'll become yet, but he can use the practice.

Gray: Waver's future apprentice. Interactions vary, I'm not predetermining anything. A difference between Lord El-Meloi II and Waver is that he doesn't mind looking at her face.

Waver's Future Students: He's curious about his students, but he's still the right age to be their classmate. Younger Waver is open to learn all about the wild class he'll have in a few years and act like a kid himself. While he isn't their teacher yet, he does feel some protectiveness for them.

Kayneth El-Melloi: Waver's old teacher whose skill he respects but their relationship is almost entirely animosity.

Gilgamesh: bruh.
